If you were previously registered to vote and served a felony conviction, you may have to register again. Check your registration status to confirm.
If you are currently in jail (i.e., not serving a felony conviction) or know someone in jail, you/they are eligible to vote. These people can vote absentee ballot.
It is illegal for a person who knows they are ineligible to vote to register to vote. The state of Georgia has also interpreted that to mean “attempted to register” so please check your registration status PRIOR to attempting to vote.
