Georgia Youth Agenda
NGP’s Georgia Youth Agenda represents the voting and policy needs of Georgia's 18-25 year olds. The goal is to ensure that all young voters in each community are registered, engaged, and informed. Voter Registration for High School Students, Working Youth, and College Students is at the core of this effort.
NGP is committed to engaging and exciting new votes. With our 18x18 Campaign, New Georgia Project (NGP) has established an initiative to increase the number of 18- and 19-year-old Georgia citizens by 18,000, in 2018. There are over 200,000 across the state; who if registered, informed, organized, and empowered, can fundamentally impact the mid-term and future elections.
The focus of the 18x18 campaign is to:
- Register 18,000 18- and 19-year-old Georgia citizens.
- Engage young new voters by providing leadership and organizing training opportunities.
- Establish relationships with administration and student leadership at high schools and colleges in all 159 of Georgia’s counties.
- Transform young new voters into super voters (participates in each election cycle) and eventually into super citizen leaders (participates in each election cycle while also leading efforts towards systemic and institutional change in their communities).
The goal this year is to ensure that we get youth across the state registered, engaged, and informed, so that they will know how important voting and exercising their rights to make a difference for their future!
Host a Voter Registration
NGP hosts voter registrations in all 159 counties, every day of the week. We work closely with school boards, the Atlanta chapter of Omega Psi Phi and Delta Sigma Theta, as well other community partners to plan and register voters. If you are an administrator, parent, young worker or student group, email email@example.com to host a voter registration at your high school, university or community.
