Lead Organizer - Macon
Why do you to this work?
There is an element of enjoyment just being a part of the driving force to preserve and continue building a society in which people from different creeds, color, and orientations can live, create, and share together. If we can build such a society, then we would have achieved the ultimate goal of human freedom.
How has this work changed you?
Being apart of this team has given me the opportunity to grasp the fuller understanding of how to be a leader, reach out to communities unlike your own. I understand that I don't have to sit on the sidelines and accept what has already been done by those before me. I can be apart of this new change and hope for those generations to come.
If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Jane Elliott, she realized that there was a disconnect in the 1960’s between what whites knew about racism and what blacks experienced. She opened the eyes of many people across the nation through her Brown eyes vs. Blue eyes Experiment. I would love to know a little bit more about her social psychology behind her experiments and experience.
